About the Journal: Journal of Social Studies is a peer-reviewed refereed journal published by Hornbill Press on behalf of the Independent Hill Peoples’ Foundation (IHPF), Imphal. Initially started as Changemaker in 2014, the Journal completed 10 years of publication providing scholars the platform to meaningfully engage in academic discourse. With the ever increasing demand for wider reach and accessibility, it went online from July 2024.

Aim and Vision: The aim of this journal is to provide meaningful and accessible platform to scholars and the academic community to present the latest of their findings in their field of research. It primarily aims to be a voice of scholars with diverse perspectives and take into consideration the applicability and relevance of such ideas. With this in mind, the journal aspires to be one of India’s most referred academic journals in the future.

Scope of the Journal: Journal of Social Studies accepts contributions from various social science disciplines such as History, Polity, Economics, Education, Philosophy, Management, Psychology and Communication. It also encourages interdisciplinary approaches in understanding complex societal issues which can help planners and policy makers in the effective implementation of policies. It encourages critical reviews, debates and discussion, besides its core objectives of engaging them with the latest of their findings.
